Summer

Walking in the sand,
on an old dirt road,
the familiar feeling of freedom,
spreads under my toes.
I close my eyes,
and open my mind,
and soon I am there,
smelling crisp summer air.
The scent of the ocean,
tingles my nose,
its drifts over the water,
every strand of my hair blows.
Summer, where have you gone?
The sour taste of salt water,
trickles on my lips,
the sunset in my eyes,
begins to slowly dip.
Over the horizon,
my mind goes with the sun,
turning upside down,
pouring my thoughts one by one.
The suns blanket,
is hidden from my skin,
the cold ocean breeze,
renews my soul again.
Summer, where have you gone?

  1. Kelsey I love this poem! Good diction! I can see everything that you are saying clearly.
